Role Overview – Senior Business Analyst

The Senior Business Analyst – Commercial Data Warehouse will work closely with business stakeholders and data engineering teams to design and deliver scalable data solutions that support commercial decision-making.

The role focuses on gathering business requirements, defining data models, and ensuring accurate data integration from multiple commercial data sources. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in commercial analytics, data warehouse implementation, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities – Senior Business Analyst

Business & Functional Analysis

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Commercial Operations to gather and analyze business requirements.

  • Translate business needs into detailed documentation such as BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and data requirement documents.

  • Define KPIs, metrics, business rules, and reporting requirements for commercial analytics.

  • Conduct gap analysis and recommend data-driven solutions to improve business performance.

Data Warehouse & Analytics

  • Work closely with data engineering teams to design dimensional data models (fact and dimension tables).

  • Define source-to-target mappings (STTM) and transformation logic for ETL/ELT processes.

  • Support the development and optimization of Commercial Data Warehouse (CDW) and data marts.

  • Ensure integration of multiple data sources, including:

    • Sales data (primary and secondary)

    • CRM data

    • Market data

    • Customer, HCP, and territory data

Delivery & Testing

  • Participate in Agile processes, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and prioritization.

  • Develop and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios and validate data accuracy.

  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as a bridge between business teams, data engineers, and reporting teams.

  • Provide regular project updates and manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Support change management, documentation, and user training when required.

Required Skills & Experience – Senior Business Analyst

  • 8–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst with strong hands-on involvement.

  • Experience working on Commercial Data Warehouse (CDW) or Enterprise Data Warehouse projects.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Data warehousing concepts (ETL/ELT, dimensional modeling)

    • Data mapping and data lineage

    • SQL for data validation and analysis

  • Experience working with commercial datasets such as sales, CRM, market data, or customer analytics.

  • Hands-on experience with UAT testing, data validation, and business rule definition.

  • Strong experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote team environment.

Preferred Qualifications – Senior Business Analyst

  • Experience in Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical commercial analytics.

  • Exposure to modern data platforms such as:

    • Snowflake

    • Azure

    • AWS

    • Databricks

    • Redshift

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and Microsoft Power BI.

  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks.
