Meta is seeking an experienced and visionary Data Engineering Manager – Analytics to join the Instagram analytics organization. This role is based in San Francisco and plays a critical part in shaping data-driven decision-making for products used by billions of people worldwide.
As a Data Engineering Manager, you will lead high-impact analytics initiatives, manage and grow a team of data engineers and analytics engineers, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Leadership teams. Your work will directly influence product strategy, user experience, and business outcomes across Instagram.
Role Overview
The Data Engineering Manager – Analytics will be responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing business intelligence platforms, data models, and analytics pipelines. You will own the analytics data infrastructure that powers executive dashboards, experimentation insights, and strategic reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration

Define and execute the BI and analytics engineering strategy for Instagram’s product and business teams

Design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines, ETL frameworks, and data warehouses

Develop scalable dimensional data models that support self-service analytics and experimentation

Partner with Product Managers and Leadership to translate business questions into data-driven insights and dashboards

Ensure data quality, reliability, governance, and performance across large-scale datasets
-
Drive best practices in data modeling, documentation, and analytics workflows

Support executive-level reporting and strategic decision-making with accurate and timely insights

Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Science, Software Engineering, and Infrastructure teams
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field

8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or business intelligence

3+ years of experience managing or leading technical data teams

Strong expertise in SQL, data warehousing, and large-scale analytics systems

Experience designing data models that support dashboards, experimentation, and metrics frameworks

Proven ability to communicate complex data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience working with modern BI tools and analytics platforms

Familiarity with distributed data systems and cloud-based data infrastructure

Strong understanding of product analytics, KPIs, and experimentation frameworks

Prior experience in consumer internet, social media, or large-scale tech platforms
