Role Overview
TCS is recruiting an analytical Data Analyst for its operations and analytics delivery centre in Kolkata.
In this role, you will support business and operational decision-making by transforming complex operational, customer, and performance datasets into actionable insights. You will write high-performance SQL queries, build automated Python processing scripts, design executive Power BI/Tableau dashboards, and partner with cross-functional business stakeholders to improve service metrics and drive process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Operational Intelligence

Dataset Mining: Analyze large operational and customer datasets to identify trends, performance bottlenecks, and process improvement opportunities.

Metric Monitoring: Continuously monitor key operational indicators (KPIs), highlighting emerging risks,trends, and commercial opportunities for leadership teams.

Customer Experience Optimization: Provide data-driven insights to improve customer experience,reduce repeat contact rates, and enhance overall service delivery performance.
Dashboard Engineering & Data Modeling

Dashboard Development: Design, build, and maintain executive reports, data models, and interactive visualization dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.

Automation & Quality Support: Support data automation initiatives, reporting pipeline enhancements,and continuous data quality improvement programs.

Actionable Recommendations: Translate complex quantitative findings into clear, structured recommendations for both technical and operational audiences.
Stakeholder Collaboration

SME Partnership: Collaborate closely with business teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) to validate analytical findings and develop actionable improvement plans.

Cross-Functional Delivery: Work effectively across cross-functional shared services environments to meet project deliverables and timeline expectations.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
Required Experience & Skills

Experience: 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence within corporate operations.

Technical Mastery:

Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database querying.

Working knowledge of Python for data manipulation and scripting.

Advanced Excel modeling capabilities (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros).

Proven experience building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau.

Analytical Mindset: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly grasp business processes and convert raw data into strategic insights.

Communication: Strong written and verbal presentation skills tailored for both technical peers and senior business executives.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in Utilities, Customer Operations, BPS/BPO, or Shared Services environments.

Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
