Role Overview
AGCO Corporation is recruiting an experienced Data Scientist I to join its technology delivery team in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad Area.
In this senior technical role, you will design and implement advanced machine learning and Generative AI solutions that drive measurable business and manufacturing impact. You will translate agricultural challenges into computational workflows, conduct proof-of-concept experiments, fine-tune LLMs and deep learning models, and partner with data engineers to deploy scalable, high-performance MLOps pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics & Insight Generation

Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across core manufacturing and smart farming domains to prioritize actionable analytical insights.

Problem Translation: Translate business needs and operational hypotheses into structured data science tasks and computational workflows.
Machine Learning & Generative AI Model Development

Predictive Modeling: Design and implement robust machine learning models (regression, classification,forecasting, and deep learning) while maintaining strict statistical integrity.

Generative AI Research: Research, fine-tune, and optimize generative AI applications—including Large Language Models (LLMs), GANs, VAEs, and diffusion models—for enterprise use cases.

Validation & Experimentation: Conduct rigorous proof-of-concept studies and evaluate model outputs for accuracy, reliability, and bias mitigation.
Deployment, Integration & MLOps

Pipeline Scaling: Partner with cloud and data engineers to deploy models using scalable, high-performance production pipelines.

Lifecycle Management: Ensure production readiness by implementing robust monitoring, automated retraining routines, and MLOps governance across cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Visualization & Stakeholder Communication

Data Storytelling: Present complex technical insights and strategic recommendations clearly to global stakeholders using advanced data visualization techniques.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
Required Experience & Core Skills

Experience: 7+ years of progressive professional experience in data science and analytics, with demonstrated end-to-end model development and production deployment.

Generative AI & ML Expertise: Proven hands-on expertise in generative AI frameworks (LLMs, GANs, VAEs) and advanced machine learning methodologies.

Programming & Frameworks: Strong programming proficiency in Python and deep familiarity with ML/DL frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Big Data & Cloud: Practical experience working with big data infrastructure (Spark, Hive, Hadoop) and cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Communication: Exceptional communication, data storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
