Role Overview
Carrier is recruiting an experienced Specialist – Spend Analytics to join its Global Supply Chain Center of Excellence in Gurgaon.
This senior analytical role combines advanced procurement spend data intelligence with deep should-cost engineering. You will transform raw procurement datasets into audit-ready cost intelligence using Python, R, VBA, and Power BI, build granular component cost models using aPriori software, apply machine learning algorithms for spend classification and anomaly detection, and equip global category managers with fact-based negotiation frameworks to achieve measurable cost savings.
Key Responsibilities
Spend Data Analytics & AI Automation

Data Intelligence & Automation: Transform complex spend datasets into actionable insights using statistical modeling and scalable analytical workflows built in Python, R, VBA, and Advanced Excel.

Machine Learning Applications: Apply AI/ML techniques for spend classification, outlier detection,pattern recognition, and predictive procurement analytics.

Audit-Ready Analytics: Deliver structured, audit-ready spend analytics supporting global and regional strategic sourcing initiatives.
Should-Cost Modeling & Cost Intelligence

Build-to-Print Costing: Construct and validate detailed should-cost models for direct manufacturing categories—including plastics, sheet metal, pressure die-casting (PDC), and precision machining.

aPriori Modeling: Build, maintain, and refine parametric cost models in aPriori to reflect real-time raw material market indices and manufacturing cost drivers.

Design-to-Cost & Value Engineering: Drive cost reduction initiatives via value engineering, design-to-cost principles, and RFQ benchmarking.
Market Intelligence & Negotiation Preparation

Market Benchmarking: Monitor global commodity trends, raw material indices, supplier landscapes, and HVAC industry technology developments.

Negotiation Packs: Prepare structured negotiation packs for category managers—including should-cost breakdowns, supplier scorecards, price-volume sensitivity curves, and price justification frameworks.

Supplier Walk-Throughs: Conduct supplier cost walk-throughs to challenge quote variances with fact-based cost driver evidence.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
Required Background & Skills

Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in spend analytics, strategic sourcing, or cost engineering within an industrial manufacturing or supply chain environment.

aPriori Expertise (Mandatory): Hands-on experience building and validating cost models using aPriori(or equivalent should-cost software) is strictly mandatory.

Programming & Automation: Demonstrated proficiency in Python, R, VBA, and Advanced Excel for automated data pipelines.

BI & Data Visualization: Practical experience developing executive dashboards in Power BI or Tableau.

Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of raw materials, tooling costs, and manufacturing processes across plastics, sheet metal, casting, and machining.
