About the Role

HCL Tech is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused IT Support Specialist to provide technical assistance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless operation of IT systems for internal teams and clients. This role demands strong analytical ability, excellent communication skills, and hands-on problem-solving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 & Level 2 technical support for hardware, software, network, and system issues.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to Windows/Mac OS, printers, email, VPN, routers, and enterprise applications.

  • Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices.

  • Manage user accounts through Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other IAM tools.

  • Monitor system performance and escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams as needed.

  • Maintain documentation for procedures, issue logs, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Assist in IT asset management, inventory updates, and lifecycle management.

  • Ensure compliance with HCL Tech’s security policies, ITIL best practices, and data protection standards.

  • Provide remote support to global employees through ticketing systems (ServiceNow/Jira).

  • Conduct user training on basic IT tools and cybersecurity practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, service desk, or technical helpdesk roles.

  • Strong knowledge of

    • Operating Systems (Windows, macOS, Linux basics)

    • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)

    • Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams

    • Active Directory & Remote Desktop tools

  • Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, SLA-driven environments.

  • Certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, N+, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft MCP.
